Since 1973

The story of Bakioğlu Holding’s foundation begins when Bak Ambalaj, the first group company founded by the late Enver Bakioğlu, started operating in Izmir’s Kahramanlar district in 1973 with the production of printed and unprinted paper bags.

With the 1993 establishment of Polibak Plastik Film AŞ., which specialized in plastic film production, one of the key components of flexible packaging, a further step in the vertical integration of the packaging sector was completed.

In 1994, the company Baksaş Sigorta ve Aracılık Hizmetleri AŞ joined the group to meet the insurance needs of the growing number of holding companies, and also to provide services to external companies. In order to contribute to the economic and social life of the Aegean region by establishing a bridge with Ankara, the regional broadcasting company Egevizyon Görsel ve İşitsel Medya Yayınları AŞ (Ege TV and Radyo Ege) was founded, and the Holding companies entered the media sector.

Founded to make turnkey factory constructions, Bakiş Yapı İnşaat Sanayi Ticaret AŞ also began to serve in the construction of Holding Companies and factories, as well as factories, schools and hospitals for different sectors. Baktrans Taşımacılık Ticaret AŞ was established in the same year to transport Bakioğlu Holding companies’ products, and to provide logistics services to external companies. As necessitated in the new order created by the globalizing world and the conditions of the time, Baktrans used helicopters to fulfill the need for effective time management. It continued operations under the trade name Baknet Bilgi İşlem ve Taşımacılık AŞ after the merger with Baknet İletişim in 2016

Having continued its development as Bakioğlu Group of Companies, and consolidated its presence in the flexible packaging sector through its vertical integration structure, the Group took its first step towards institutionalization in 1996 with the establishment of Bakioğlu Holding.

Providing pre-press gravure processing services Bak Gravür Teknolojisi Sanayi Ticaret AŞ, launched its operations initially as part of the Bakioğlu-Wetzel partnership in 1998. As of 2001, it continued its operations under Bakioğlu Holding as Enternasyonel Gravür AŞ. In 2017, the company changed its title to Bak Gravür Teknolojisi San. Tic. AŞ in order to ensure integrity under the roof of a single logo family with Group Companies and, currently, is among the leading rotogravure cylinder manufacturers in Turkey.

In light of the awareness that the only way to closely follow rapidly changing technology is communication, Baknet, which staked its position in the information sector under the trade name Baknet İletişim ve Bilgisayar Ürünleri Pazarlama Sanayi AŞ, began to provide services for Baknet Bilişim and Baknet VIP Havacılık under the name of Baknet Bilgi İşlem ve Taşımacılık AŞ as a result of the Baktrans merger as of December 2016.

The final link of the vertical integration established by Bakioğlu Holding in the “Flexible Packaging Industry”, Bareks Plastik AŞ, was established in 2002, and multi-layered technological Polyethylene Film production was commissioned.

In parallel with all these developments, Bak Ambalaj Dış Ticaret AŞ (Bak International) started its activities as of February 2015 to support the Group’s growing export operations. Shortly thereafter, in May 2015, Amsterdam-based Bak Flexibles BV started operations in order to be closer to its customers in the targeted Western Europe market, to strengthen its international brand identity, and to support Bak Ambalaj’s sales in the region in terms of both sales force and logistics.

Bak Global Trade BV started operations towards the end of 2016 in order to benefit from cost-effective financing facilities in Europe in the overseas raw material procurement process. As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bakioglu Holding, we invested in industry's unprecedented "Freeze Dry" technology for the first time in Turkey, and the first food company of the Group "Freshbak" was established.

Bareks completed the construction of the second factory in Menemen Free Zone and Bareks’s 6th Blown Film Extrusion Line (W&H) became operational in April. Bareks A.S.’s capacity has been increased to 31.000 tons.
